The Southwestern Academy Sun's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a 20-15 hit to the loss column at the hands of Glendale Adventist.
Southwestern Academy's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Valza Jusufi, who scored 4 points along with 13 rebounds. Jusufi scored a full 26.7% of Southwestern Academy's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Michelle Fakrogha, who scored 7 points along with 11 rebounds.
Glendale Adventist found their leader in underclassman Jazmin Wong, who scored 8 points along with 7 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Escudero, who scored 2 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 blocks.
Southwestern Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Glendale Adventist, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southwestern Academy will square off against International School of Los Angeles at 4:20 p.m. on Friday. As for Glendale Adventist, they will head out on the road to face off against Yeshiva University of Los Angeles (YULA) at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Yeshiva University of Los Angeles (YULA) will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
