The Sulphur Bluff Bears won the last time they faced the Ector Eagles, and things went their way on Thursday too. Sulphur Bluff blew past Ector, posting a 48-14 victory at home. With Sulphur Bluff ahead 33-13 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Sulphur Bluff found their leader in underclassman Emerson Fite, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Fite has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ana Servin, who scored 10 points.
The win makes it two in a row for Sulphur Bluff and bumps their season record up to 4-6. As for Ector, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.
Sulphur Bluff has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Whitewright at 5:20 p.m. on December 8th. Whitewright's defense has only allowed 28 points per game this season, so Sulphur Bluff's offense will have their work cut out for Sulphur Bluff. Ector is on the road again on Friday and play against Bloomburg. Bloomburg is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
