Torres has gone a perfect 10-0 against Elizabeth recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Toros will look to defend their home field against the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Torres has four straight wins, Elizabeth has 21 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Torres barely beat Sotomayor the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Toros put the hurt on the Wolves with a sharp 14-1 victory on Thursday. The Toros might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by ten runs or more this season.
Abraham Ramos and Victor Damian Silva made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Ramos pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Silva pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Ramos has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Ramos got on base in four of his six plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Silva went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Torres got a massive performance out of Angel Tostado, who went 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Tostado has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 19 times he's played. Jouse Solis Rojas was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Torres kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in 13 consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Elizabeth's offense. They came up short against Maywood Academy on Thursday, falling 19-0.
Elizabeth's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Torres, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.
Torres got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March against Elizabeth by a conclusive 20-0 score. Do the Toros have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
