Grace Christian Academy is 1-9 against Southwest Georgia Academy since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
It was a proper cat-fight when Grace Christian Academy took on Crisp Academy on Tuesday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 13-3 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Hines Roberts made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Roberts was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Landon Temples and Daniel Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Temples went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs, while Johnson went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four RBI gave Temples a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Oathen Atkinson, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Grace Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crisp Academy only managed three hits.
Meanwhile, Southwest Georgia Academy came tearing into Friday's match with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They didn't even let the Wildcats on the board, marking their second-straight 10-0 shutout.
Southwest Georgia Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Grace Christian Academy, their record is now 12-6.
Grace Christian Academy couldn't quite get it done against Southwest Georgia Academy in their previous matchup last Tuesday as they fell 3-0. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
