Rayelee Johnson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in August.
In other batting news, Brooklin Cromer was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Izzy Ross, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Fullington Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Twiggs Academy can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. Everything went their way against First Preparatory Christian Academy as they made off with a 14-5 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Trojans' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Fullington Academy's record now sits at 7-9. As for Twiggs Academy, their record is now 5-9.
Everything went Fullington Academy's way against Twiggs Academy when the teams last played back in August, as Fullington Academy made off with a 17-2 victory.
