Given Justin-Siena's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while Vintage is ranked 868th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Justin-Siena's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dylan Zapolski, who scored 21 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Keller, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Napa's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by Sonoma Valley 56-23. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Napa has suffered since December 2, 2023.
Justin-Siena has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. As for Napa, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-15.
