The Meyersdale Red Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 53-45 to Rockwood. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Meyersdale in their matchups with Rockwood: they've now lost three in a row.
Meyersdale's loss came despite strong showings from Morgan Walters and Madison Berkley. Walters scored 12 points along with five assists, while Berkley scored 13 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Walters has scored all season. Kelana Blubaugh was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Meyersdale has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Rockwood, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Meyersdale won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Southern Fulton at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Southern Fulton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 last Monday. As for Rockwood, they will head out on the road to take on Johnstown Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
