The Stanton Blue Devils are taking a road trip to take on the Parker Braves at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stanton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
Stanton was handed a nine-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They had just enough and edged out First Coast 3-2.
Kole Fleming looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Stanton's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Dan Exline, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, Parker won against Englewood on Thursday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Braves blew past Westside 15-5. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won four contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Parker let B Frye and D Martinez run wild. Frye got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Martinez got on base in two of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Frye has become a key player for Parker: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-3 otherwise. J Sands was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.
Parker always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
Stanton's record is now 7-2. As for Parker, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Stanton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Parker struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Stanton beat Parker 8-5 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
