The East Nicolaus Spartans posted their closest win yet this season on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 47-45 win over Paradise. The win was familiar territory for East Nicolaus who now have four in a row.
Rylee Gillespie was her usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Makinze Massey, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Paradise still got an impressive performance from Nyah Baker, who scored 23 points. That was a full 51.1% of Paradise's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Olivia Azevedo was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
East Nicolaus pushed their record up to 11-6 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Paradise, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
East Nicolaus will be playing in front of their home fans against Winters at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Winters will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Paradise, they will head out on the road to challenge Willows at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
