Cornerstone Christian took a 50-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Marin Catholic. While losing is never fun, Cornerstone Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while Marin Catholic is ranked 78th).
When it comes to explaining why Cornerstone Christian lost on Saturday, one person who can't be blamed is Mecca Alexander. Despite the final result, she scored 21 points. Alexander hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Pamela-Joyce Allen, who scored eight points.
Cornerstone Christian's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Marin Catholic, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 13-9.
Cornerstone Christian will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Fremont Christian at 5:30 p.m. As for Marin Catholic, Marin Catholic and Branson will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Branson will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
