Midtown is a perfect 6-0 against Creekside since February of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Midtown will take on Creekside at 6:00 p.m. Midtown's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Creekside's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Wednesday, Midtown beat M.L. King 5-1. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Midtown let Beckett Boatright and Charlie Frederick run wild. Boatright scored a run and stole four bases while going 1-for-3, while Frederick scored a run while going 2-for-2. That's the most stolen bases Boatright has posted since back in February.
Meanwhile, Creekside got the win against Drew on Wednesday by a conclusive 16-1. With that win, the Seminoles brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
TAKEEVIUS THORTON was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Creekside: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 0-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of CAMERON MCCRARY, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Creekside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Midtown's record now sits at 12-5. As for Creekside, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-10.
Friday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Midtown has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .460. However, it's not like Creekside struggles in that department as they've averaged .501. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Midtown's way against Creekside when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Midtown made off with a 16-7 win. Will Midtown repeat their success, or does Creekside has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
