The Rio Hondo Prep Kares can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Mayfield with a sharp 43-19 win. The win was familiar territory for Rio Hondo Prep who now have three in a row.
Leading Rio Hondo Prep to victory were Tara Riley and Emma Carson. Riley scored 16 points along with two steals, while Carson dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Carson hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Diaz, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Rio Hondo Prep has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Mayfield, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-7.
Rio Hondo Prep will play host again and welcome Flintridge Prep, where tip off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Flintridge Prep will be looking to extend their current 16-game winning streak. As for Mayfield, they will head out on the road to face off against Chadwick at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chadwick is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
