The Poly Bears will head out to square off against the Liberty Bison at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Poly's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Liberty's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Saturday as neither Poly nor King made it on the board until the seventh inning. The Bears fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 2-1. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Danny Bedford was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Michael Neri was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Meanwhile, Liberty made easy work of Chula Vista on Thursday and carried off a 9-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Bison, who have now won four games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Martin Naranjo tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Caleb Lozano, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Xzavian Mazariegos, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Liberty kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chula Vista only managed six.
Poly's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Liberty, their record is now 5-7.
Poly skirted past Liberty 2-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
