The Leo Lions will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger Saints at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Leo comes in on seven and Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger on three.
Even though East Noble scored an imposing 42 points on Friday, Leo still came out on top. Leo came out on top in a nail-biter against East Noble and snuck past 45-42.
Leo got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kylar Decker out in front who threw for 242 yards and four touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes. Dearious Carter was another key contributor, rushing for 188 yards while picking up 9.0 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger strolled past DeKalb with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 42-28.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carter Minix, who picked up 145 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Minix was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 65 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Springer, who threw for 252 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.6 yards per attempt.
Leo's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.3 points per game. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Leo took a serious blow against Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger when the teams last played back in October of 2018, falling 42-9. Thankfully for Leo, Devon Tippmann (who rushed for 147 yards and a touchdown) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
