Make it 16 blowout wins for the Liberty Ranch Hawks this season. They put the hurt on Union Mine with a sharp 58-33 win on Tuesday. With Liberty Ranch ahead 34-12 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Liberty Ranch found their leader in underclassman Haley Smith, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Summer Mccoy, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Several Diamondbacks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kyra Wooden, who scored nine points along with two steals and two blocks. Kamdyn Keeler was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Liberty Ranch's win was their 15th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Union Mine, their loss dropped their record down to 14-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty Ranch will challenge Bradshaw Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bradshaw Christian has now lost 15 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 27. Union Mine on the road again on Friday and play against Rosemont at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th.
