The Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers will be home for the holidays to greet the Peddie Falcons at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Georgetown Day's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Peddie has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Even though Georgetown Day has not done well against Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Georgetown Day came out on top against Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart by a score of 51-38. Given Georgetown Day's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked second in District of Columbia, while Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart is ranked 83rd in Maryland), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Georgetown Day found their leader in underclassman Nevaeh Roberson, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. The match was Roberson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Madisyn Moore was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Peddie was beaten by Life Center Academy 85-27 on Tuesday. Peddie has not had much luck with Life Center Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Georgetown Day's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Peddie, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
