After soaring to 64 points the game before, the Vandercook Lake Jayhawks were a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They were outmatched by Quincy on the road and fell 60-20. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Vandercook Lake has scored all season.
Quincy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Grant Carter, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds. Those eight rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Clayton Benson, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Vandercook Lake bumped their record down to 2-6 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Quincy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.
Vandercook Lake won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Mendon at 12:00 p.m. on December 29th. Mendon is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Quincy will finish 2023 at home by hosting Whiteford at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Whiteford presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Quincy in Michigan (Whiteford is ranked 176th, while Quincy is ranked 399th).
