MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - After two lead changes,
Minnehaha Academy (Minneapolis, Minn.) took the lead for the win when
Andy Tangen kicked a field goal with less than a minute remaining in the fourth quarter and held on to beat
Breck (Minneapolis, Minn.) 24-21 on Saturday.
After nabbing the lead on a touchdown, the Mustangs went into halftime with a 14-0 lead. The Red Hawks scored the winning points with a field goal by Tangen that came in the fourth quarter.
When the two teams played each other last season, Minnehaha Academy came away with a 27-13 victory.
The defeat comes as a step back for Breck, which notched a 42-26 victory over Spectrum in its previous outing. The win brought Minnehaha Academy's winning streak to three games.
Breck (4-3) goes up against Providence Academy in a Tri-Metro - West game matchup next week, while Minnehaha Academy (6-1) locks horns with DeLaSalle also in a Tri-Metro - West game.
