Homer-Center has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the West Shamokin Wolves at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Tuesday, Homer-Center came up short against River Valley and fell 38-30. While losing is never fun, Homer-Center can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 311th, while River Valley is ranked 110th).
Meanwhile, West Shamokin also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Marion Center by a score of 56-44. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for West Shamokin in their matchups with Marion Center: they've now lost six in a row.
Homer-Center's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-7. As for West Shamokin, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.
Homer-Center was able to grind out a solid win over West Shamokin when the teams last played back in January of 2023, winning 41-30. Will Homer-Center repeat their success, or does West Shamokin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
