The Moriarty Pintos will take on the Chaparral Lobos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Moriarty is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Portales 49-13. The result was nothing new for the Pintos, who have now won four matchups by 36 points or more so far this season.

Moriarty's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mateo Manley-Griego led the charge by rushing for 151 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries. The Pintos are undefeated when Manley-Griego posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 3-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Devin Ortiz, who rushed for 37 yards and three scores.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Moriarty was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 301 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 153 rushing yards in 13 consecutive games dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Chaparral, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in October. They snuck past Portales with a 33-28 victory last Friday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Lobos' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.
A big part of Chaparral's win came down to the chemistry between Israel Nieto and his top target Raul Lopez. Nieto rushed for 68 yards and four TDs on only nine carries while Lopez rushed for 156 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.7 yards per carry.
Chaparral's defense made their presence known, laying out Kingston Lee three times. Moises Gurrola was especially locked on to Portales' QB and sacked him twice.
Moriarty has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.5 points on average over those games. As for Chaparral, their record now sits at 7-3.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Moriarty has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 264.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Chaparral struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 180 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
