Jacob Lubben was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Oak Grove is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-8 otherwise. Lubben was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other batting news, Brandon Stewart and Noah Vierra did most of the damage at the plate: Stewart went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI, while Vierra went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double. Vierra is becoming a predictor of Oak Grove's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 3-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Kraje, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
Oak Grove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, MacDonald was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against Lynbrook, falling 11-3.
Xzavier Segovia was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
MacDonald's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Oak Grove, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9.
MacDonald's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Oak Grove hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .323. It's a different story for MacDonald, though, as they've only averaged .178. Will they be able to contain Oak Grove's hitters?
Oak Grove got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 against MacDonald by a conclusive 14-0 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Condor turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
