Ocean View Christian was the 3-2 winner over Victory Christian Academy when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Patriots took a 16-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights on Thursday. Even though they lost, the Patriots' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.6 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Tyler Cauley put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off four hits. Cauley was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, Cruz Pamintuan was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
