The Rouse Raiders were the 45-7 winner over the Pflugerville Panthers when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Rouse took a 29-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pflugerville on Thursday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Rouse came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 299th, while Pflugerville is ranked 705th).
Rouse's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Justin Cannon, who rushed for 123 yards. Another player making a difference was Keller Rogers, who picked up 92 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Rhyder Miller was a one-man wrecking crew for Pflugerville as he rushed for 175 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Miller was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards. Kyran Mcfrazier also helped out with an impressive 90 receiving yards.
This is the second loss in a row for Rouse and nudges their season record down to 6-3. As for Pflugerville, their victory bumped their record up to 2-7.
Rouse will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Elgin at 7:00 p.m. As for Pflugerville, they will head out on the road to face off against Pflugerville Connally at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
