Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Marisa Gant was her usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. That makes it ten consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Springfield Southeast's points. Rakiyah Coleman was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Springfield Southeast's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for MacArthur, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.
Springfield Southeast is on the road again on Saturday and play against Sacred Heart-Griffin at 12:30 p.m. on January 6, 2024. As for MacArthur, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Taylorville at 7:00 p.m.
