The Springfield Southeast Spartans (Springfield, IL) basketball nipped the host MacArthur Generals (Decatur, IL), 56-55 in Friday's non-league test.

The Spartans (5-10) will now prepare for their test against Sacred Heart-Griffin (Springfield, IL). The Cyclones go into the Central State Eight test with a 10-8 record.

The Generals now own a 7-10 record. They play next when they host Taylorville for a non-league test on Thursday, January 4.
