On Saturday, The Houston Hurricanes faced the Kingsland Knights in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Houston took a 45-28 bruising from Kingsland. Houston has struggled against Kingsland recently, as their match on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Kingsland was led to victory by Kaaleem Reiland and Beau Wiersma. Reiland threw for 262 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per attempt, while Wiersma gained 190 total yards and four touchdowns. Wiersma's longest reception was for an incredible 82 yards. Kingsland also got help from Ayden Howard who showed off his sure hands for 100 receiving yards.
Houston's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Kingsland, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Houston does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kingsland will face off against Spring Grove at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Spring Grove will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
