Cedaredge has won four straight games at home, while Rifle has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Bruins will welcome the Bears at 2:00 p.m. Cedaredge knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Rifle likes a good challenge.
Cedaredge is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Moffat County with a sharp 23-3 win two weeks ago. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Tia Homedew was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in August.
In other batting news, Cedaredge got a massive performance out of Kiera Stroh, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and five RBI. That's the most stolen bases Stroh has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jewel Laliberte, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and three doubles.
Cedaredge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Rifle hadn't done well against Palisade recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Bears came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 8-4.
Like Cedaredge, Rifle also got a great game from a two-way player: Gia Keithley. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Keithley was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brynn Axelson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Aaliyah Mangnall was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Rifle's victory bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Cedaredge, their win bumped their record up to 14-5.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Cedaredge has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .577. However, it's not like Rifle struggles in that department as they've averaged .488. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
