If Chanute wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Pittsburg, they should've done a better job of containing Malcolm Riley. The Dragons claimed a resounding 42-0 victory over the Blue Comets thanks in part to Riley, who rushed for 142 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 carries. He has become a key player for Pittsburg: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-3 otherwise.

Pittsburg's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Chanute, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Pittsburg will challenge Topeka at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Dragons will be up against the Trojans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 25.86 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Chanute, they will square off against Labette County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Grizzlies' defense has only allowed 13.6 points per game this season, so the Blue Comets' offense will have their work cut out for them.
