Nytavis Powell Tops All Others This Week
Starting off the list is Montgomery Central's Nytavis Powell, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Powell rushed for 184 yards while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 66 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 71-yard run.
Montgomery Central pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Powell and Montgomery Central will take on Central Davidson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Kaison Phillips Delivers Electric Effort Vs Montgomery Central
Ledford was sadly handed a defeat on Friday, but Kaison Phillips did his best to prevent it. Ledford is 2-1 when Phillips posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise.
Ledford now has a losing record at 3-4. Phillips will have a chance to log another big game when he takes on Oak Grove on Friday.

Asheboro is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5. LEE and Asheboro will host North Davidson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Bradley Byrd Turns in Another Game with at Least Six Total Tackles
Bradley Byrd continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his 20th-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least six total tackles. He picked up a sack and made 16 total tackles in addition to snagging an interception, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long.
If history really does repeat itself, Byrd might just drop another big game when he faces off against Ledford on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Byrd saw the Panthers), he made 19 total tackles (3.0 for loss).
