The Tri-County Cavaliers waltzed into their game on Saturday with four straight wins but they left with five. They came out on top against Caston by a score of 65-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Eric Zarse continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Koby Bahler, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Loss or not, Caston got some senior leadership from Talon Zeider and Caleb Stinson. Zeider scored 22 points, while Stinson. scored 21 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Stinson hasn't dropped below 21 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Hook, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Tri-County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. As for Caston, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tri-County will take on the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Indiana (North Newton is ranked 354th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 339th). As for Caston, they and the Vikings will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. North White is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
