Softball Recap: Adams Central Has No Trouble Against Ord

Adams Central owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Ord Chanticleers. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Chanticleers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Joshlyn Konen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Jordyn Pracht was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Lucy Svoboda was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Adams Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The win got Adams Central back to even at 4-4. As for Ord, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Coming up, Adams Central is taking a road trip to challenge St. Cecilia at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ord, they will welcome Gothenburg at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
