Alessandro Martinez-Cabrera looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jimmy Salinas, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Harrison May was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Las Lomas was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Wednesday Clear Lake sidestepped American Canyon for an 11-9 win.
David Cruz JR was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. He also put up a triple, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Zane Mcauley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one triple.
Clear Lake pushed their record up to 19-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Las Lomas, their record is now 15-11-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Las Lomas has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Clear Lake struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
