The Santa Fe Raiders scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took down Union County 53-39. That 53-39 margin sets a new team best for Santa Fe this season.
Santa Fe's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Haleigh Richburgh led the charge by scoring 16 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Richburgh has scored at least 25% of Santa Fe's points. Another player making a difference was Natalie Chohan, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Santa Fe and bumps their season record up to 3-3. As for Union County, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Santa Fe won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Newberry at 6:00 p.m. on December 13th. Hopefully Newberry focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Friday. As for Union County, they will head out on the road to face off against Oak Hall at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Oak Hall presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Union County in Florida (Oak Hall is ranked 32nd, while Union County is ranked 579th).
