The Carlisle Thundering Herd's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 53-35 bruising from Central Dauphin. While losing is never fun, Carlisle can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while Central Dauphin is ranked 46th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central Dauphin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lauren Cavoli, who scored 13 points along with five assists. Olivia Green was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Carlisle has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Central Dauphin, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.
Carlisle will be playing at home against Harrisburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Harrisburg comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Central Dauphin, they will head out on the road to face off against Chambersburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
