Trinity Christian Academy has won eight straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Buchholz has won eight straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors will welcome the Buchholz Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Trinity Christian Academy: 1.2, Buchholz: 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Trinity Christian Academy gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on Columbia with a sharp 9-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Conquerors in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won six in a row.
Ethan Wheeler made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over 5.2 innings pitched. Wheeler was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tyler Ellis, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jordan Martinez, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.
Trinity Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Buchholz ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Colquitt County, sneaking past 5-3. The five-run effort marked the Bobcats' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Wyatt Clarke looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Blake Brewer was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.
Buchholz's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Trinity Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Trinity Christian Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 12.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Buchholz struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Trinity Christian Academy's way against Buchholz in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Trinity Christian Academy made off with an 11-0 win. Will Trinity Christian Academy repeat their success, or does Buchholz have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
