It was a good run, but the Desert Christian Knights unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They received a tough blow as they fell 34-19 to Faith Baptist. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Desert Christian has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Desert Christian saw an underclassman step up: Makenzie Duffee scored six points along with 11 rebounds and four steals. Duffee has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last seven times she's played. Abigail Williams was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
Desert Christian's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-7. As for Faith Baptist, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Desert Christian will take on The Palmdale Aerospace Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Palmdale Aerospace Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Faith Baptist, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Trinity Classical Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th. One thing working in Trinity Classical Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches.
