This season hasn't been kind to the Borrego Springs Rams, who are still winless after their seventh match. They were dealt a 40-12 defeat at the hands of San Jacinto Valley Academy on Saturday.
Abigail Gonzalez was Borrego Springs' leading scorer, having posted four points.
Melanie Urquidez held things down on the boards with eight rebounds. Urquidez took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
Borrego Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for San Jacinto Valley Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Borrego Springs' road trip will continue as they head out to face Mountain Empire at 2:00 p.m. on December 9th. Mountain Empire comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for San Jacinto Valley Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against West Shores at 12:05 p.m. on Saturday. West Shores' defense has only allowed 14.6 points per game this season, so San Jacinto Valley Academy's offense will have their work cut out for San Jacinto Valley Academy.
