The Willows Honkers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 39-27 to Winters. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Willows of the 43-24 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Willows still got an impressive performance from Kyleigh Goppert, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Goppert has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Vennus Garcia, who scored four points along with three steals.
Willows' loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Winters, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Willows will head out on the road to challenge Live Oak at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Live Oak is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. Winters will take on Durham at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Durham is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
