Indio is 9-1 against Yucca Valley since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Rajahs will welcome the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Indio has six straight victories, Yucca Valley has 13 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Indio's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Twentynine Palms. Considering the Rajahs have won seven contests by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Zackary Muniz made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Indio is 5-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-9 otherwise. Muniz was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Noah Hernandez looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Indio: the team is 5-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-9 otherwise.
Back at the plate, Jose Rodriguez and Julian Mandujano did most of the damage at the plate: Rodriguez went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while Mandujano went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles Mandujano has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Sanchez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Indio was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Twentynine Palms hit Yucca Valley with a five-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trojans came up short against the Wildcats, falling 12-1.
Indio pushed their record up to 12-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Yucca Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.
Indio took their win against Yucca Valley in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 19-7 score. Will the Rajahs repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
