Baseball Recap: Crespi Extends Winning Streak to Three

Crespi won against Bishop Alemany two weeks ago with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Celts blew past the Saugus Centurions 8-2. Considering the Celts have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jackson Eisenhauer looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, Josh Stonehouse was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Troy Miller was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Crespi always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Saugus only posted an OBP of .167.

The win was the third in a row for Crespi, bringing their record up to 17-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Saugus, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-10.

Crespi wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 10-1 win against La Salle on the 24th. As for Saugus, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-0 loss against Sierra Canyon on the 25th.
