The Bentworth Bearcats can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They walked away with a 54-47 win over Frazier. The win was just what Bentworth needed coming off of a 60-20 defeat in their prior matchup.
Among those leading the charge was Aubrie Logan, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Amber Sallee, who scored 14 points.
Despite the defeat, Frazier had strong showings from Allie Yauch, who scored 20 points along with four steals, and Malana Burton, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 18 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Burton scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Harger, who scored nine points.
Bentworth's win bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Frazier, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Bentworth won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Southmoreland at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Southmoreland is ranked 634th, while Bentworth is ranked 632nd). Frazier won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Monessen at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Monessen will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
