Fountain-Fort Carson had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Mountain View Mountain Lions with a sharp 19-1 win. The Trojans not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since September 14, 2024 (when they won 22-0).
Brynlee Torres made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Torres was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles and four RBI.
In other batting news, Maya Aguilar was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Naliyah Jordan, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Fountain-Fort Carson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in August of 2024.
Mountain View is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
