After two games on the road, Plumas Charter is heading back home. They will take on the Loyalton Grizzlies at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 73-30, which was the final score in Plumas Charter's tilt against Portola on Friday. Plumas Charter was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-17.
Meanwhile, Loyalton came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Virginia City 60-20 at home. Loyalton has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Loyalton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sophie Holland, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Holland is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games she's played. Alexxis Gunier was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Plumas Charter now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Loyalton, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
