After a string of three wins, the San Gabriel Academy Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They received a tough blow as they fell 46-29 to The Webb Schools. San Gabriel Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as The Webb Schools apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
The Webb Schools' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Pristine Thomas led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Thomas has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Xajani Badkar was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
San Gabriel Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for The Webb Schools, they pushed their record up to 9-8 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Gabriel Academy will take on Western Christian at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. Western Christian is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. The Webb Schools won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against E at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. E comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
