If the Banning Broncos were feeling good off their 68-16 takedown of the Indio Rajahs last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Banning fell just short of the Mighty Arabs by a score of 39-37. Banning has not had much luck with the Mighty Arabs recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Several Broncos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Symora Prince, who scored 16 points along with two steals. Prince has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. Maryanne Palacios was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Banning's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-14. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only two points. As for Coachella Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 10-12.
Banning will head out on the road to square off against the Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cathedral City comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last eight games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Coachella Valley, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the RAMS at 5:30 p.m. on January 31st. Desert Mirage is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
