Indio is 8-2 against Yucca Valley since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Rajahs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. Indio will be strutting in after a win while Yucca Valley will be coming in after a defeat.
On Thursday, Indio sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over Coachella Valley. That's two games straight that the Rajahs have won by just one run.

Zackary Muniz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Julian Mandujano was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. He has become a key player for Indio: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 5-10 otherwise. Jose Rodriguez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Indio hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Coachella Valley struck out eight times.
Meanwhile, Yucca Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Palm Springs, falling 7-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Trojans were not able to get on the board.
Indio is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games. As for Yucca Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
Indio came out on top in a nail-biter against Yucca Valley in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. Do the Rajahs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
