The Virginia Academy Patriots 's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 55-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Virginia Episcopal School. Virginia Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Virginia Episcopal School apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Despite the loss, Virginia Academy still got an impressive performance from Rondel Jones Jr., who scored 20 points. The matchup was Jones Jr.'s fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mike Manser , who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds.
Leading Virginia Episcopal School to victory were Kaloyan Kolev and Billy Koudelka. Kolev dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds, while Koudelka scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ethan Kline, who scored 11 points.
Virginia Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Virginia Episcopal School, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Virginia Academy is on the road again on Sunday and play against Coolidge at 6:00 p.m. on December 3rd. Hopefully Coolidge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Saturday. As for Virginia Episcopal School, they will head out on the road to face off against Liberty Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
