Two dominant guards in Alijah Adem and Cyril Franklin are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Spring Valley Grizzlies will head out on the road to face off against the Silverado Skyhawks at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Spring Valley has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They slipped by Durango 63-62 on Wednesday.
Spring Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adem, who scored 15 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Adem has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Jordon Cosby was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Silverado's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 77-66 to Arbor View.
Spring Valley's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-12. As for Silverado, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-9.
