The Pine Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Lake Worth Christian Defenders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pine knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Lake Worth Christian likes a good challenge.
Pine posted their biggest win since December 7, 2023 on Tuesday. They blew past Dreyfoos School of the Arts 61-27 at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-16.
Lake Worth Christian only won by three when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 36-point they dealt FAU High on Thursday. Lake Worth Christian breezed by FAU High at home to the tune of 63-27. Given Lake Worth Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 301st, while FAU High is ranked 750th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Pine's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. As for Lake Worth Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Pine took a serious blow against Lake Worth Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2020, falling 74-39. Can Pine avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
