The Boron Bobcats lost against the Rosamond Roadrunners back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Boron was outmatched by Rosamond at home and fell 59-27. Boron has struggled against Rosamond recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Boron lost, one person who can't be blamed is Hailey Davis. Despite the final result, she scored 18 points along with four steals. Davis is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. Brynn Dadey was another key contributor, scoring two points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Rosamond found their leader in underclassman Ariel Cain, who dropped a triple-double on 26 points, 13 rebounds, and ten steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Cain has scored at least a third of Rosamond's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rihanna Williams, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Boron has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Rosamond, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 18-7.
Boron does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rosamond, they will be playing at home against Kern Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rosamond is coming into the game with four straight wins at home, so Kern Valley is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
